Course Descriptions

Pre-Licensing Course

Classes generally run from 7am to 6:30 pm Thursday through Saturday. Please bring a pen, paper, and a highlighter.

Adjusting companies are looking everywhere for trained, licensed insurance adjusters. This class will prep you in the essentials for CAT adjusting success and is a TX State-certified licensing class* (reciprocal with most states)! Upon successful completion, you will qualify for your TX license and have a good beginning grasp of how to be great CAT adjuster.

The Texas Adjuster License is recognized as a valid license in most states, allowing adjusters with this license to work practically anywhere in the United States. If you want to work Catastrophe claims, this is the must-have license; claims handling companies will be looking to make sure you are licensed. For details on reciprocity - please see the "Rules of Reciprocity" on our Licensing Page .

The CAT adjusting training in the class includes all subjects of study required by the state of TX. It includes 30 hours of in-class training and 10 hours of self-study plus an exam. It also covers basic principles of policy interpretation/application, scoping (i.e. how to determine what and how much to include in your estimates), estimatics, communication with carrier/vendor/insured, equipment, safety and methods to help you secure a position so you can begin adjusting CAT claims ASAP!!!

The certification exam is included in the cost and is given at the end of this course (we thoroughly prep you for the exam).
